What Customers Say About Survival Wisdom & Know How: Everything You Need to Know to Thrive in the Wilderness:

This book was certainly full of important information. More importantly, and troublesome, is the unwieldy trim size. While some of it may not be all up to date, this book draws on the tried and true methods of subsisting in the wilderness. That being said, it is a true "survival" guide, and not just an introduction to camping. It was nearly 12" x 14", and at 488 pages, you'll need to either memorize all the info, or write it down some place handy. A good book, all in all, but not convenient.
Military survival manuals of all types are more to the point with time proven skills. It is a big book, I guess they pulled up the kitchen sink and put in here as well. Oh the small print come on give me a break, it makes my eyes hurt. Mostly like a shotgun pattern.if you throw everything in old or new.you have to be impressed about the size. It is content that is important here, not size. Keep it simple and to the point. There are better buys out there.
i bought this book not realizing the size of it or the low quality paper and binding but im an very impressed, not only does it have everything you would need in the wild but it has step by step details and other ways of doing things from the u.s. army to the indians. a good buy
It is a very large book with a wealth of information. More info than one could quite possibly absorb. It is definitely not a feild guide that you would bring along outdoors.
This book has some good material in it and is inspirational for the novice outdoors-person. Almost all of the material in this book is included more comprehensively in books I already have and I was unable to find anything "new and exciting". The material is all compiled from previous publications by the "Author", thus some bits included are rather useless and no insights are offered. A large section covers modern fishing techniques using lures and motor boats as well as other skills not relevant to true wilderness survival. The book is very large, think large coffee table book (13.5 inches tall) and is poorly bound (I was given 2 copies and they both began to loose the cover and some pages within a month). Another book good for the survival library and fun to peruse, but contains little of real value (unless it is the only book you have).
